There are two main national bodies which SureVoIP rates highly, and who’s work influences our decisions and our view of our industry. These are Comms Council and ISPA (the Internet Service Providers’ Association).

Comms Council Awards

Comms Council (formerly ITSPA) is a national overseeing body governing the VoIP industry in the UK.

As an organisation it is important for a number of reasons. It provides a voice for the industry, providing effective lobbying on any regulatory issues. It spearheads industry initiatives, and provides a forum for issues and debate.

The Comms Council gives annual awards to VoIP providers working in the UK, and this year SureVoIP entered for the categories Best ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) for Small Enterprise, Best SOHO ITSP, Best VoIP Infrastructure, and Best VoIP Innovation.

We are very pleased to announce that we are Finalists in the following categories:

  • Best ITSP for Small Enterprise
  • Best SOHO ITSP
  • Best VoIP Infrastructure.

This is amazing news for our team and stands as testament to the amount of work we put in continually to deliver the best service we can. It also emphasises to our Partners that their faith in us as an innovative VoIP Provider is well placed.

I would like to personally congratulate not just this year’s finalists, but everybody in our industry. You have kept us all communicating and the economy going during these tumultuous times, and for that we are forever grateful.”

Eli Katz, Chair of Comms Council UK Council

As the industry governing body, Comms Council has a great deal resting on their reputation and credibility, and this is reflected in the awards process. All entrants are vetted carefully, and all entries are carefully scrutinised by a panel of judges. They are an important resource for UK consumers, and give a level of reassurance when researching any prospective ITSP.

Compliance with Data Protection and Data Retention legislation, for instance, or appropriate fraud prevention measures, are indicated by issuing a Quality Mark. Anyone who wishes to know more regarding a potential Provider only has to check the Comms Council website ( to check compliance, and commitment to customer care.

ISPA Awards

The other national body we pay close attention to is ISPA – the Internet Service Providers’ Association.

They contribute to internet services in the UK, promoting best practise. They helped found the Internet Watch Foundation, dedicated to monitoring and reporting illegal online content, and cover issues such as consumer complaint policies, data protection and service quality. You can read more about them here –

This year, SureVoIP entered their national annual awards, and we are pleased to announce that we are Finalists in the ‘Best VoIP’ category.

So – we are Finalists for four prestigious national awards!

Our thanks go to both the Comms Council and ISPA for their consideration.

We look forward to hearing the judges’ decisions later on in the year. We’ll keep you posted.
